2023 C’mon Festival
MUSIC–HERE, THERE & EVERWHERE
July 12-17, Various Times and Locations
The C’mon Festival returns to downtown Edmonton for some serious classical music fun this summer. You can expect a unique musical experience: adventurous, surprising and genre-blurring. Renovations to the Winspear Centre have put us back on the street, so we’ll be heading to a variety of locations: the concerts will be “Here, There & Everywhere”! As always, admission is “pay what you can”.
All the performances will feature the seven-piece C’mon Ensemble – some of Edmonton’s finest classical musicians. On Wednesday, July 12 the musical hijinks begin with an outdoor set in Winston Churchill Square, in partnership with the Edmonton International Street Performers Festival.
On Friday, July 14 and Saturday, July 15, we’ll head a couple of blocks over to All Saints’ Cathedral (10035 103 Street) for two eclectic programs spanning more than three hundred years. A highlight will be David Baker’s “Homage à L’Histoire” – African-American music inspired by Igor Stravinsky’s “The Soldier’s Tale”.
And finally, on Monday, July 17 we will wrap things up with a noon-hour concert at the Stanley Milner Library.
